HUNTSVILLE, Alabama

? Last year, the State of Alabama had two winners of Toyota vehicles during the first Toyota ?100 Cars for Good? program to benefit nonprofit organizations ? Sci-Quest in Huntsville and SafeHouse in Shelby County.

Sci-Quest received a mini-van to help bring portable exhibits and activities to students and educators through its Traveling Scientist program.

Toyota is now taking nominations through March 27 at 2 a.m. (CDT) or until the first 5,000 nominations are made for its second ?100 Cars for Good? program this year.

The auto-maker giant will award 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days. Winners will be selected each day through public voting on Facebook.

Finalists will be notified in April and public voting will begin May 14 with five organizations up for consideration each day for 100 consecutive days. The four runners up each day will receive a $1,000 grant from Toyota.

Finalists will be eligible for one of six Toyota models, including the Camry Hybrid, Highlander SUV, Prius v hybrid, Sienna mini-van, Sienna Mobility or Tundra full-sized pickup. A six-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty for each vehicle will be provided by Toyota Financial Services which employs 3,300 associates nationwide.

Also, Toyota will provide every finalist with a digital video camera, training toolkit and free online advertising credits to help them create or expand their presence in social media and other digital platforms.

The program is open to any registered 501c3 nonprofit organization and nonprofit Native America or Alaskan tribes with sovereignty.

Each finalist will submit a short video and explanation on how a new vehicle would help further its work. Both will be featured on the ?100 Cars for Good? website.
