STL Communications Helps ?The Shoeman? Turn Shoes Into Clean ...

A core value?of STL Communications is giving back to the communities we serve. We give our time and money to a number of causes including: technology scholarships, participation in food drives, telephone system maintenance for needy school districts, sponsorship for Rural Hospital fund raisers, and?a number of other money raising events each year.

STL Communications Partners with George from The Shoeman Projects

Our newest partnership is with George ?The Shoeman??Hutchings with? The Shoeman Water Projects (www.shoeman.org). The Shoeman organization collects shoes?in the?St Louis area and beyond. They export shoes to distributors in South America, Haiti and Kenya. Shoe resale builds the local developing economy with retail businesses and affordable shoes for pennies on the dollar or barter. Affordable shoes are a life saving tool as they protect the new owner?s feet and overall health from foot abrasions, parasites and mites. Money from the sale of the shoes is used to purchase well drilling rigs, water filtration systems, and other supplies to bring clean, fresh water to those who thirst.

Join us?and?help others. Give us a call?and?we will bring you a collection box. The STL Communications employee?collection box have gathered 303 pairs of shoes, and I think I just heard someone drop?in a couple of pair. In addition,?for every STL Communication employee?pair donated, STL donates $1 to the cause.?We also have an employee contest. STL is awarding the employee with the most shoes contributed, a free vacation day. So far, the leader?has donated 114 pairs!??That?s a lot of shoes.

STL Communications?provides telephone system communication and collaboration solutions?for business. STL sells, installs, services, and maintains Avaya Aura, IP Office, as well as Nortel?and Avaya/Lucent legacy systems.
